Kiko's Rotisserie Chicken in Artesia, CA

My brother from another mother ship was in town. Jeff and his crew was here partying for a weekend. The two of us were driving back to the eLBow to hook up with the rest of the b-boys and we were a couple of Starving Stevens. Fucking famished, I'd say. No burgers, fries and a salad for my homeboy though. I took him to Kiko's in Artesia,CA - near Cerritos and Hawaiian Gardens right off the 605 freeway. That area is where a ton of killer foods are at because a bunch of Filipinos, Chinese and Koreans reside there... and there's even a small India-town nearby.

Oh, I don't typically eat anywhere that says "try our teriyaki bowl," which is usually a sign of doom. Not the case at Kiko's. The rotisserie chicken and lechon (roast pork) is superb-o-tronic. Don't mind there sign:

Lechon. Gotta always get a side of this when you're here:
Chicken skin:
And what Kiko's is known for:
Oh, here's the Chicken Ruffles. What is that? I don't know! But I'll eat it!
Jeff said immediately, "what we gettin'?" We're getting the #1, that's the baseline at this place. The stocker:
Oh, sorry. Started eating before I realized that there should be clicking of the camera:
Side of lechon. Sometimes its like pork rinds, where's its just all deep fried pork skin/fat. Not at this place. Lots of meat!
How's the chicken, Jeff? "Duuude, this chicken's off the chain! This ain't no regular chicken, man! This took at least 2 days to make!" We were off to go meet the rest of the guys to hang out, so we had to split...
...but Mr.Kiko's came up to the window to ask us how lunch went... and insisted we try his goat stew! I'm down, I still got room!
It was really good, too. Tastes just like lean beef.
Aloha to Kiko's. I'll see you guys again soon.
