drove across country with my kid last week.
hung out with COCH jeff for the day, my kid helped him fix a pizza dough mixer. we called denver dan just because we love him. ate some thai food.
we had a quick session at this little skatepark in a little town called idaho falls in the middle of the colorado rockies.
ate some KFC.
stopped in at jeff deckers place, looked at all his neat stuff, laughed a lot. went over to the trolley restaurant his wife owns and runs. the cute hostess liked my camera. ate the sampler platter and an apple beer. they gave us some tri-tip sandwiches and a GIANT piece of home made carrot cake for the road.
crossing into california from carson city nevada, we got stuck behind this giant heard of sheep for about 5 miles. ate some almonds i had.
all together we did 3,041 miles in about 5 days. we stopped alot and soaked up the scenery. we got home last saturday. my kid turned 7 this past tuesday. im already daydreaming about doing the next one. ive gotta get him used to the road, cuz as soon as he's 16, were gonna do it on sickles. ok im gonna go eat some left over sweet and sour chicken, later.

Good for you dude. Your son will never forget the memories you are making for him.
makes me wanna have kids. Your a good Dad, giving your kid some great memories and influence.
Funny how we instill memories into our kids..the wife and i were just talking how "complete" parents we were in raising our girls, funny how we forgot to teach them YARDWORK as we laughed over a beer!! Good Read there Goose
