Shin Sen Gumi Hakata Ramen - Gardena, CA

Sunday's a treat when we have a off topic food post submitted by one of our homies Wil, pictured here with a bike he's putting together with the collaborative help of T-Bone, Harpoon, Sonny Boy and Kiyo:
Here's what Wil had to say about his little adventure:

So I'm layin on the couch all Sunday wishin I was knees in the breeze but tweaked my back, so I watched one of those Anthony Bourdain marathons where he's travelin' and eatin' the best soups I've ever seen or heard of. Figured I get off my ass and soup my soul.

But first I had to go by CantSayJose's as we were doin a lil'horse trading. He told me to come by like fifty times (fortynine of which I flaked), but today was as good as any. I talked Ling into heading up north to L.A to get a bowl of super hotness from Orochon. I figured I'd hit up the usual suspects to see who was down.

Turned out Nelson was out of commission with his back busted too, ChopperDave doesn't answer his phone but you knew that, and Jose just installed a full on in ground doggie pool... so he was swimmin while Buster stood around just hot and confused.

CantStayJose did have the goods though and turned us on to Hakata Ramen, twice the soupy goodness for half the trek. Gardena here we come.

There are some people when they tell you there gold in them there hills, get your shovel and your hiking boots. Jose is one of those people.

We pull up to the spot and the line out the door to most is an inconveince, to me is a great sign. Full on authentic noodle house with chef Ryo tripin and dippin the noodles. There's a lil wait but totally worth it. We order it up. Ling played it safe with just miso and egg. Me I just got one... of everything. Put it in a bowl and oh snapalicious!!!

We even got the bomb appetizers cucumber and miso for the lady, fried chicken for the ( insert descriptive here) gentleman. I even made my own hot sauce with shoyu, vinegar, chili oil, and red pepper. FYI brotha's love hot sauce, it's like our salad dressing.

Anywhoo we done it... Your Sunday substitute correspondent.

WorD,

Wil.
