Bonneville

This was my first time on the salt, but I can’t complain considering it only took me 22 years to make it. First trip west of the Mississippi by car too. Got into Wendover late thurs. night with the wind blowing steady at 30mph. Meet up with our pal George Poteet (drives Speed Demon stream liner) at the casino and got into our room and crashed after our 2000mile trip from Tennessee. Got out on the salt early Friday morning after eating breakfast with George and Troy Trepanier, who by the way is a really cool down to earth guy. The salt flats were breath taking to say the least and the wind from the night before actually cleared away a lot of the looseness that always ends up stuck to your ride like wet snow. Had a blast walking around the pits, talking to anyone that wanted to have a conversation, and digging all the old iron that was there. Cars that I have been seeing in magazines my whole life were there. The un-official car show they had Fri., Sat., and Sun. night at the Nugget Casino were we stayed was laid back and honestly better than any show I have ever been to around home. No way to explain how cool it was to ride up and down the return road on my bike and think bout how records from 90-400mph are still being broke there after over 50 years. Better see you there next year. Look for the truck and trailer from TN running a Datsun280Z.

Thanks Zach!

Never been there for speed week, but been across the flats many times traveling for an old job I had. the flats are amazing in and of themselves. Speed week must be the stuff!
