Bye Bye Buell

Today, Thursday, October 15, 2009, an emotional Erik Buell announced that the Buell Motorcycle Co. will no longer produce motorcycles.
This is a very sad casualty of the bad economy. Buell has produced some very nice motorcycles over the years. Buell is the only American made sport bike going against the “Big Boys” from overseas. It was a good run & we can only hope that Buell will someday return to it’s rightful place of prominence.

I wore my Buell jersey to work today for the first time, then the boss gave us the news. Some thought it was funny, I thought it sucked. Watched the message from Erik Buell, he was pretty tore up.
Employees at our place got offered new 1125r Buells with warranty for $5000. So broke I didn't sign on the dotted line.
He had a good run and I hope he does more good stuff in the future.
TriGlides will rule the Earth now.

FUCK 3, dammit! I was thinking about getting an 1125r somewhere down the road, but I guess that's not gonna happen now... It seems like such a waste, that the "Company" wont stand behind performance technology and innovation, but I guess that's not where the money is. Nor is it the first time something like this has happened with the "Company", right?
