Sometime in the mid to late 90's, I found this FXR in an issue of Playboy.
I could never find a feature on it in any bike mags - I had searched and searched. I've asked around but never got a solid answer."I think this one dude made it, I'll find the issue for ya, man..." Yeah, yeah, whatever.
I thought it was the shit. Inverted front end, 6 piston front caliper with over-sized disc, steering damper, NOS bottle, bobbed rear fender, Ohlins shocks and the ever elusive JMC swingarm, which was like 'holy shit!' back then. Actually, everything about this FXR was like holy shit back then. Was he running sportbike wheels? 17" front maybe? holy shit! What pipes did he run?! No other photos!!!
And as far as I could tell from living on an island a thousand of miles away in the middle of Pacific, I thought there were only Hamster FXR's that were stretched, lowered, raked, molded, then painted all one color. Until I found this one. So anyone got any clues?

When I first saw the wheels, I thought maybe Dymag's but they look like six spokes, so probably a matching set of PM's. Remember, back then the big boys were all into being all matchy. Maybe Ron Simms? He had a little bit of the muscle bike thing going on back then, and I'm pretty sure he had a couple of bikes in Playboy.
I think this one guy built it. I'll find the issue for you...
Yes, Scott is right, that one guy built it.
i have a clue
I doubt "one" guy built it..haha
Def. not a Simms bike, too many nice functioning parts..
I agree I have seen it before in a mag, but can't remember which.. and i won't look..haha
Psshh.
Sure thats a NOS bottle? Looks kinda like a blacked out Aerocharger turbo set up with downtube mounted intercooler. Since everything is black it's hard to tell, could be an oil cooler. I always hated the way those Aerochargers looked.
I remember this as the pics were taken 5 minutes from my house. The dude's name was Bonner (not boner!) I never saw the bike around, though, which is odd since it's a small town. Dude lived in Sarasota, FL. That Tasty-Feeze deal in the background is smack in the middle of cracktown now...I think they finally tore it down. Oh yeah, that WAS his OL in the pic, too. Lucky fucker, right?? Funny to see this pic posted here, sorry I have no more bike info.
Rad. Finally a clue! Thanks!
It looks a lot like a bike that the actor Scott Glenn had, that was featured in the long-gone Cycle World Harley magazine, Big Twin.
