NYC Bound

Submitted from Tom Rose
Hello all

The Gwen Stefanie motor was bolted in to Cookie for
the last time in mid May. Playa flew into Wyoming to
pick her up on the 15th of June. He was picked up at
the airport by Ib'n who had a brand new Vanson for him.

He then tolerated a series of surprises, and a couple of
teething issues. On seeing Cookie for the first time in
months, he was greeted by protest labels on his e-button
and battery in the form of Cyrillic engraving (first engraving
on any bike I've done)and a Japanese Kanji, courtesy of Ib'n.
The weather was uncooperative with rain, hail, and some snow,
Playa ignored the weather and rode. Brother Joel fabbed
the "barber pole" kicker extension so she could be kicked
in a more leisurely manner as befitting Playa's roots, drawl,
and impeccable manners. The whole family was involved,
feeding Playa, tinkering, tuning, sending him back
out onto the road.

His "break-in" rides rapidly became hundreds of
miles in length, this is normal for FXR pilots.
One ride was 180 miles round trip just to buy my
sons some Black Cats. We managed to get a few rides
into the hills around town, in between thunderstorms
and hail. He then left, running hard stopping to visit
friends en route for NYC. He called every 10 gallons
of gas or so, we traced his progress.

Cookie's e-start was rarely used and
continues to atrophy.

I got a phone call an hour or so ago,
Cookie is purring along about 100 miles out of NYC.

I want to thank everyone who helped
in this build and especially Playa.
