Hey guys
So, my brother Joel gives me the coolest shit. Alright, he gives me a lot of shit in general. He gave me EOE - the Exposer of Evil - my new scale. What have I done for him? Well, I publicly threatened to give him a set of handlebars recently. I lent him a Phil Irving book (WWPID). I gave him a Vanson jacket one year, but that was over a decade ago. I must gleefully admit, I don't know how he tolerates me.
He says to me: "There's a gift for you on that car trailer".
It is an antique (Uncle Mike says it's not THAT old, it has a zip code on it)platen table. For those of you who don't know what a platen table is, it is a slab of cast iron. This one weighs almost 3,000 pounds and is five feet by six feet. It has 1 3/4 inch square holes punched in it on 3 1/2 inch centers. The table is flat to 5/1000 of an inch per foot. All this lovingly crafted in Philadelphia poured cast iron (www.acorniron.com).
This isn't Leggo for big boys - this is Fischertechnik www.fischertechnik.com.
I haven't named the table yet, but its use is clear. It is an Altar upon which stock motorcycles will be sacrificed to the Chopper Gods. Yes, I'm drooling. Me brother Joel also brought me hundreds of pounds of tooling, which is hard to find.
I've attached some pictures. The motorcycle rim which is on it for scale some of you may recognize as belonging to a 1948 Indian Scout. It is an 18 inch and I straightened it using the table.
Maybe I'll order those bars.

i am really, really jealous.
those go for a lot of money used, and rarely come up for sale.
Why doesn't my brother give me cool stuff? WTF?
Oh my god.........How cool is that? I'd settle for small Pexto table.
