Submitted from Tom Edison
"My good friend Wayne Pollack's FXR style land speed "street" bike, purpose built to attempt a 0 - 200mph standing mile run at Maxton.  Sprayed nitrous over sprayed alcohol over gasoline to make somewhere in the vicinity of 300+ hairy horses.  Hand formed aluminum bodywork and a ton of custom billet parts designed and machined by Wayne.  Wayne is an ex top fuel Harley pilot who holds numerous land speed records (some over 260mph) and has been over 200 mph more times than I can count. Not just a highly skilled madman, his bike building and engine work is always impeccable.  He's one of those rare individuals whose only fear is not going faster than 300mph on a motorcycle before he dies!"

After some initial testing, a blown motor etc., the project has been mothballed. Wayne went on with a 635 HP Turbo Hayabusa project attempting to set a standing mile LSR benchmark, shooting for 270mph. After having shoulder surgery, he was injured in a goofy, walking speed tip over at the Texas Mile where the Busa's handlebar pinned his hand to the ground and foiled his next LSR attempt. One thing led to another and he decided he would leave the Busa to another team member and give LSR a rest for a while.

Never one to be idle for long, he began researching building a jet powered bike with a 300mph target in mind.(Wiley Coyote's got nothing on Wayne!) Then he planned to do some expo quarter mile racing at drag race venues having quenched his thirst for the 300 mph mark. He had lined up an engine thru Art Arfons' son and was beginning to put a plan together until he hit a monetary hitch.... the high tech piece of fabwork that focused the afterburner was going to cost 14 grand alone. He reassessed his budget and decided it was going to be too expensive to complete the project. Recently, out of the blue, Wayne was struck by Vertigo, to the point where he couldn't stand or walk. He is recovering and on a strict workout regimen while planning to build a monster HD FXR street bike built around a 139 inch firebreathing V-Twin Busa killer motor. Ya Can't keep a good man down!
