that uptown bar in minneapolis was bulldozed so a slew of new retail stores could take its place.
Love how you have a pic of the Continental with that asshole Trigger giving someone a hard time. The only time that place was any good, was when the Dwarves played there.
Also, big-ups to the Coney Island High pic... Punk Nite was the shit.
Shit Coney Island High, time to cue it up;
Memories, nothing more than memories.
That area has changed so much, so many times over the years, just hope it can recover one day to be as fun as it was years ago...
High on Fire, Suplecs, Weedeater, and some one else...Cont. Club 8-9 years ago...Puked in Basement.
How about Notel Motel next to Brownies..Anyone remember that one...I remember that it was open very very late...One of the last stops before the sun came up.
Coney Island High-yes.
De Rokery ... an excellent choice sir!
I don't smoke any more, but was my haunt of choice when in town.
Ever been to Manitobas down on Avenue A?
Seen alot of shows at First ave and the entry back in the day.Jesus Lizard was a great fuckin show!!Dont miss Minnesota tho.
RIP Coney Island High and Brownies. Many fond memories eating dinner at Dojo across the street from Coney Island High, seeing a great show, and then ending the night at Grassroots.....
and HiFi will never be what Brownies was.
WOT NO MARS BAR??!?
so many good bars, so many memories, so many bulldozed. if you end up back in NYC you need to try Mars Bar, Whiskey Ward, Otto's Shrunken Head, Manitoba's, 7B, etc. I miss the NYC bar scene, there's nothing like it in Japan
oh yeah and Ace Bar
