N1's are very cool. I like the old, original ones very much. But, for a bigger guy with an athletic build, the fit can be off in my experience. To get the required shoulder size, you end up with a jacket with a huge waste.
I've taken an old N1 to a couple of local tailors for proper fitting and they said they wouldn't touch it. I'll keep looking for a good tailor.

yeah, Old N1 is so cool.
I have 40's N1 , B9 and B6.
original ones very cool.I love them.I wear them and ride my pan.
Gak is a problem same as you, too. N1 is small.
