Bummer, did you anneal the gasket ? Not being a smartarse, only ever used copper on my Trumpies and know fuck all about the Hoggly application, let alone big inch, hi comp monsters.
Are your head inserts pulling out? If they've been cut down (make sure your cylinder top lip is not touching the combustion chamber or when you tighten the head bolts it's not crushing the gasket. I paint the copper with high heat HD barrel paint (just kinda dust 'em) I think you need .100 to be safe.
tx everyone. - There are a few oddities with these heads (ie. I can only goto 45 foot pound of torque on the bolts - not the standard 65...) - and I have been assured that the Cometic will hold up with no problem..

Yeap - I think the word is... Cometic CFM 20.... now looking for a set.
Now that's an impressive combustion chamber shape :-D
I run tri-metal head and base gaskets on my 11:1 shovel. No re-torque nessesary and have been running with no problems for 2 years now.
