Been on both sides of the trailer. Really miss seeing the cars on an open trailer, it would get you pumped up on the way to the track. One of the best nights at the track was after winning at Eddyville stopping at the old Ammoco station to grab the last old rottisorrie hot dog. I came out to see a bunch of young Dudes looking over mys treet Camaro ignoring Sofrankos' killer '34 Ford 3 window on the trailer... knew there was a racin' god that night! The downside to running open is the fuckin' weather, Kansas hail storms don't care how nice your '66 Chevy II is, it's just more tin to hammer into dimpules! The first time we won Super Stock class at Indy we had an open trailer and chained down the hood till tear down the next morning just so there could be no "enhancements" done over night. Would never want to go back to fighting the weather and the track but fun to look back at the good ole days.........
