Harpoon had the brakes shoes for his knuck project relined at Porterfield Brakes in Costa Mesa, CA. I had done the same to the front on my own knuck and got them to work better than whatever stock's supposed to feel like (although I thought I needed to give it more work). I'm hoping Harpoon's going to have better results.
Riding around well populated areas of Southern California with just mechanical drums can get pretty tense. If you're looking to get more riding than just a Sunday morning jaunt to get breakfast, good brakes for your vintage motorcycle is a must.
