Well, read GKM #9 and all is revealed... I posted some outtake pics on my blog if yer interested. Nate smokes me on my CB750, that bike is light as fuck and there is hardly any weight on those forks. I reckon he doesnt need a lot of travel. The "oil tank" holds the battery and electronics. It really makes the whole flow work.

what's the point in having those forks?
To absorb the gigantic bumps in that road??? I was wondering the point of having the oil tank for the Yammy motor??
