no gooders new year party!

i believe i met Lucky in the summer of 1986. he lived across from the 32nd street curbs at the "skate house" it had no front door whatsoever, 'accidently' broken off at the hinges the day they moved in, and promptly thrown away. there was a skateboard holding up the bathroom sink, and a couch wedged halfway up the stairs and permanently stuck there. Lucky drove a 64 valiant, and i drove a 65 mustang. i was 16 years old. anyway Lucky and Don G (R.I.P. we lost him just this last year) had recently written "california dreamin" on the back their car and drove it from dayton ohio, to newport where i met them on the boardwalk one sunny summer day. i got older and moved away to college, and would often come back to visit, a million people came and went to and from my life over the years, but that fucker Lucky just never went! always the same happy fucker i used to ride curbs with. he bought his triumph a few years before i got mine and we somehow have always been into the same shit. skateboards, even though we ride' em a lot less nowdays, punk, even though were not as quick to jump in the circle as we used to, and MOTORCYCLES, cuz, well... you dont have to push them i guess... well, not as often anyways. so we ran it wide open big bear style this new years in lake tahoe. man i'd do anything for that fucker! long live the no gooders! and happy fuckin new year to you all.
