I've been working on my 1961 XLCH this week. I bought it in 1989 when Sportster ironheads weren't cool. Most guys wanted a FZR or Honda Hurricane. Here I was running this old Sportster and they looked at me sort of funny. Some still do.

The past month I wet sanded and buffed my original set of aluminum Harley rims & spoked up a set of wheels. I've picked up parts over the years at swap meets and finally had all the goods

The bike looks better with them than the steels. I run XLR heads, PB Cams, dry clutch, magento (of course), speedster bars - she pretty original. Right down to the Hi Fi Red paint and Birch White graphic (I'm sure CD will dig the original 1961 logo)?!?

I can't wait to start digging for goodies this week in Davenport, IA - Races are Friday night. If you're in the Midwest: Be there OR be square

I sure most of you know Paul Simonon only as the bass player from "the only band that matters." But, he is also an accomplished painter who recently showed a collection of painting inspired by a bullfight he attended in Madrid.

Apparently, he can play guitar as well.
