Submitted by Ted at S&S Cycle: Here’s a shot of the first 8 second gas Harley. This bike was owned and built by the Hausler Brothers, ridden by Jimmy Hausler. This motorcycle was a big reason why many racers back in the 80’s switched to nitro. According to Papa Chuck (Jimmy and Charlie’s dad), “the only reason these guys run nitro is because they can't figure out how to run in the 9’s on gasoline”.

Great Bike Nelson...
I had the honor of crewing for Jim and Charlie Hausler for over a decade, learned so much about racing. we loaded 6 of us in a van with this bike, went to Gainesville and ate the 36 bike field on the way to winning at the world finals...Murry Carrillo...
