Last week was family time in Northern Wisconsin..

We went up to Bayfield and did the Apostle Island thing...Lighthouses shine over Lake Superior

So many neat bar signs up north....

In the middle of nowhere.

The World record Muskie is displayed here, along with a shitload of other mounted fish.

Birchwood, Wisconsin is the host to the Bluegill Fishing Contest for the last 45 years.

In this photo my 4 year old daughter is catching her first fish...

I could only imagine what this part of the country was like in the 50,60, and 70's. So many old supper clubs are closed. For lease and sale signs are everywhere.
It was one of the best weeks Ive had in a long time.

Jeff-

I know exactly what you mean, about the supper club signs...I'm up in that area as I write this; and it must have been like something right out of the movies in the 50's and 60's... I hit a couple of places earlier this week, but they appeared to be but a shadow of their former selves. enjoyed the blog - glad to know somebody else was thinking the same thing when they came through here...

Oh yes indeed! That area is so wonderful..I cant believe the deadness up there lately...Everything is a struggle...Gas must be killing the economy..Everybody must drive so far to work....Thanks!
