In the mid '90's Joe Strummer was asked his opinion of Bruce Springsteen by a British TV station. His answer came in the fax below.
I saw The Clash at The Hollywood Palladium in 1982 and Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band in the '90's. For years I've tried to explain the similarities of the two. Most of the time I'm met with the kind of looks crazy people must encounter every day.

Scott, check out Nebraska (if you already haven't)...record company said they wouldn't do an album his way so he grabbed a TASCAM PS5 and busted out an album.
How's that for not whining and just doing something about it?
