My good friend Mary left Seattle last year to ride her BMW 650 GS as far south as she could. She got as far as Bogata, Columbia before she encountered a roadside rock slide that ended up crushing her right knee. After leaving her bike with a local police chief she flew home to heal. We had a last meal and she's flying back to Bogata to pick up her bike and continue riding. First stop Venezuela, then onto to Brazil is her tentative plan. She has no idea when she'll be back home in Seattle. I wish her the best of luck.
