Brawny Built mono-shock sportster:

Brawny aka Brandon Holstein built this one for Melanie, who's gleefully sitting next to her bike in the photo. It was a 2 year project between them and I think Melanie is the happiest French girl in all of Long Beach.
There's a few details that need to be worked out but this is pretty much it. The gas tank that's gonna be used is currently being painted, so an XLX tank was used just for the day since Hardcore Chopper Magazine was in town to shoot it.

Rivera's on 7th Street
Yes, another delightful dining experience in our city of LBC. With half a million people populating the Long Beach area, Rivera's on 7th Street was another gem we found among the hundreds of Mexican food joints. This place was introduced to us recently by Dustin:
The place was a little change for us. It was nice, well lit, and if the ambiance was this good could this place really give us what we wanted? CantStayJose was already ribbing our waiter to see if Rivera's was going to be muy auténtico. It's not easy pleasing Jose with food from his home turf. It better be good:
We started with chips and salsa of course. The salsa was surprisingly good. Lots of garlic, which is how I like it. Chips were also freshly made but not too greasy:
The tortilla soup came out right away. The hombre was surprised, which leads me to believe that our dinner was going to be good:
I had two tacos. One fish taco, which was excellent. They didn't deep fry the fish! It was grilled! The other one was taco de adobada which is like al pastor - marinated pork. Both of the tacos were really good and came recommended by the waiter. I also had one chicken tamales on the side, which was so good I was floored. I rarely come across "gourmet" tamales and this one was gourmet:
CantStayJose comio enchilada de pollo, taco de pollo, con frijoles fritos y arroz. He had the chicken enchilada, hard shell chicken taco, beans and rice. His plate was scraped clean too:
Jose dug the tortilla soup so much he took some home for su sexi novia guera (his hot white girlfriend):
We recommend Rivera's! Check it out!

Whiskey Bar - Los Angeles, CA
My first year in LA I ended up managing The Whiskey Bar at The Sunset Marquis Hotel. The Stones stayed there for 4 months while recording Voodoo Lounge. I sent a note to Keith to come hang with me at the bar. I brought some old Chicago Blues and R&B cds to play. I didn't see him for a while, but got to know his assistant Tony Russell. So one night Keith shows up. We have a few drinks and end up talking about the cultural heritage of out families. He was very engaging and genuinely interested in listening to what others had to say. At the end of their stay at the hotel Tony tells me that Keith want s to give me something (photo, autograph, etc..). I ask Tony if Keith will carve his name into the back of my Tele. Tony's not sure if he'll go for it. The next night the bar phone rings and I hear a voice on the other end simple say "bring your guitar tomorrow night". Of course I do.......

(BTW - I think the Jack Daniels/Rebel Yell stuff is all part of his public persona. We regularly sent bottles of Stoli with jugs of OJ to Keith's villa)
