FXRT

Eh? Why are you posting a bagger on COC? Well, this is not your ordinary bagged & faired bike. I've always had an interest in the FXRT (and of course the FXRP). It would be a very capable and fun bike to tour with, that's for sure. Panhead Mike Trussell down in San Diego found a killer deal on this gem. Here's his story:

It's a 1990 that was purchased new at Bob Dron and owned by the same middle-age guy until 2007. Then an Iraq Marine Corp vet from Ventura, CA bought it and was planning to keep it for a long time. He then got his high school sweetheart pregnent and had to sell it to raise cash for the upcoming wedding.

I've had it for about a year and a half and have only put the leg guards, tires and brakes on it. I also have the matching "pizza box" and front/rear running boards. It is in such well kept-original condition that I'm sure that I will keep it forever, unless I wad it up in a major crash or something.

It goes hard all day at 90-95 without much effort. The trans pully was changed for high speed. It was taken down and the frame was powdercoated as well as the wheels and handlebars, etc. As far a performance stuff, it has aThunderheader, Screamin' Eagle carb and cam and aftermarket ignition set up. That's about it.
The interesting thing about the FXRT is that very few people know what it is. Harley didn't sell many of them, as you may know, and gave up on the model.
Above is a shot of the rest of Mike's two-wheeled bonanza.

Very nice!!!! I am sure Elvis has the original seat for a FXRT! Just went for a nice ride on my FXRP....highway gearing rules..feels like you are idling at 55...handles as well as modern sport touring bikes. (Scary how far over I can lean it...) Going to tear mine down this week and paint it...never thought of red...but that looks great...love the black wheels, black side cover and tinted windshield!

I fell in love with Mike T's Denver's framed panhead - "the Beautiful Game" that was in Easyriders some years back. The man builds some nice bikes...

Bad ass. I seriously debated when buying my FXR if I should just get a T... they're fuckin' rad. I need to find a set of OG FXRT rear bags, though...
